New milestone: Over 400,000 miles submitted on Expend!

We launched our mileage claims feature at the beginning of April, which was conveniently just in time for the new tax year to start. Since then it's been quite a ride, as we’ve logged and approved over 400,000 miles, with an average of 3,000 miles a day in November 2019 alone. All these miles have been logged against 936 different vehicles in our database (based on vehicle make, model, variant, year engine size and fuel type).

To put this achievement into perspective, we've searched the Internet for some fun mileage based stats.

71,428, the number of trips from our office to the Excel Centre where Xerocon is held every year.  Or 35,714 round trips, made even easier with our automatic return trip calculator.

It's more than driving every single road throughout the UK - all 246,500 miles of it 1.62 times over and even more exciting... you could easily stop at every 80+ UK service stations twice over. What a time to be alive.

It also equals 16 times around the world’s circumference. (24,901 miles) However, this is someway off the amount of times Daft Punk sings 'around the world', with the phrase occurring 144 times in the album version and 80 times in the radio edit.

Perhaps our favourite stat of all, our Expenders have submitted enough mileage claims to get all the way to the moon (238,900 miles) and over 70% of the way back.

We estimate that we’ll be all the way back from the by 5th January 2020. Well that's unless Santa signs up to track all his present delivery miles, in which case we will be adding another 316,899,308 miles to this blog post on Christmas day.
